a little bit more ABOUT ME
Hello! I offer private and confidential personal counselling and psychotherapy for adults, teens and workplace counselling for employers.
I am passionate about my job and the joy it provides me while watching a client grow and develop, whilst making positive changes in their life. I have particular experience in working with those coping with depression, coping with anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, anger management, conflict resolution, relationship difficulties, suicidal thoughts and adult survivors of child abuse.
One of my main therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helping people to change behaviour. Not everyone seeking therapy is looking for behavioural change, and just want someone to listen to them, maybe help in making some tough decisions, and feel supported in their struggles in life. I tailor my therapeutic approach to suit your needs, to help you blossom and achieve the most you can from therapy.
I am a fully accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP), holding a BA in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I am based in Naas, County Kildare, providing a counselling service to surrounding areas such as Clane, Sallins and Kill, with free secure parking provided.
Other specialist training that I have undertaken, includes:
- Professional Practitioner's Certificates in Children & Adolescent Counselling;
- Working with Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse;
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT);
- Reality Therapy/Choice Theory;
- ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training);
- CORES (Clinical Outcomes Routine Evaluation Scales).
I come from a Corporate Human Resources background, and have been a Counsellor since 2011. My past Psychotherapy/Counselling experience includes voluntary work with adults and minors in Tallaght, D24. I manage the Counsellors/Psychotherapists at the Monread Counselling & Psychotherapy practice based in Naas which I set-up in 2013.
